Me and my boys

I have five boys in my life, my husband Euan, my sons Callum and Alasdair and my two dogs Benji and Fred.  Euan and I have been together for 13 years, when I say that out loud I realise that I am no longer in my 20's, and married for 5 years.  We are definitely in the opposites attract category, we a very different but it works for us.  Euan is a lorry driver and has a slight obsession with vintage tractors, sometimes I think that the tractors are also part of the family, his other passion is rugby although he no longer plays, we do watch it a lot!
Callum is our first boy he is now 31 months old and into everything!  He really does make me smile every day with some of the things he says and does, he is so sharp and does not miss a thing.  A couple of days ago he had come down the stairs before me, I was still getting Alasdair organised, and I heard some strange noises (I have recently bought some Christmas presents and hidden them away, including a second hand toy kitchen which was hidden away at the back of the cupboard under the stairs) so I came down the stairs and found him in the cupboard pulling this kitchen out very excited (what could I do?) anyway he says to me look what I found in the closet! When did we get a closet?!  Callum wants to be a grown up, he wants to help with everything and I love that he is interested in what we do, but boy is it hard work!  As well as trying to be grown up he also has his moments of being a baby, I am still breastfeeding him and asks for this when he is tired, hurt or upset.  I love the closeness that this brings and still shows me that despite what he thinks he is still very much dependent on me.
Alasdair is my baby, born in. March, he's now 4.5 months old.  Alasdair is a big boy, 10lb 4oz at birth and now close to 20lbs.  He is growing and developing fast, he is exclusively breastfeeding but will be starting solids in the next couple of months, we are going to go with baby led weaning and look forward to the challenges that this will bring.  With Callum we did a combination of purées and blw, and this worked well with his eating until he turned 2 and decided that he doesn't like anything other than beans, fish fingers, macaroni and chicken nuggets! Alasdair is going to be starting waterbabies in a clue of weeks which I am excited about, Callum is terrified of water even though I did take him swimming as a baby, I am hoping this will stop Alasdair being scared of water.
My other two boys are my dogs, before we had children my dogs were my world, the dogs have taken a bit of a back seat since Callum arrived but they do mean the world to me.  Benji is a lurcher, probably boxer cross greyhound, we got him as a rescue dog when he was around 15 months old, he had lots of issues and is still scared of lots of things, but he is a fantastic dog, he is very definitely my dog, and is very protective of the boys.  Fred is a jack russell and also a rescue we got him at about 18 months, he is completely insane and likes to jump and try to run away, he hates other dogs (except Benji) and cats, Fred is Euan's dog!
So that in a nutshell is my boys, I look forward to sharing with you all the fun that we have in the house!
